Call to Action for Youth Communities

We are calling on youth communities in Massachusetts to adopt a Resolution urging Governor Healey to stop private jet expansion at Massport-owned Hanscom airport or anywhere.  (See already adopted Resolutions above.)

Why should your Youth Community take this action? 

  • Private jets are the most polluting form of travel per passenger for their carbon footprint.

  • Private jet expansion deepens inequality. It widens the gap between wealthy elites and the rest of us. (See Oxfam study: Carbon Inequality Kills)

  • Building more private jet hangars directly undermines Massachusetts’ efforts to cut emissions and move toward a sustainable future.

Youth communities across Massachusetts are encouraged to adopt this Youth Resolution which is anchored in the need to take action and preserve our collective future on this planet.  By taking this action, your youth community will help build continuing momentum and amplify our message to Governor Healey to stop this indefensible plan.
